TESTIFYING TO OTHERS

Witnessing Habit

The greatest decision people can make in life is trusting and receiving Yeshua as their personal Savior and Lord It changes their status :from being child of the devil to a Son of God; and their eternal destiny from hell to heaven. BUT SOMEBODY MUST TELL THEM!

WITNESS: One who testifies to the truth he has experienced, a witness, one who has knowledge of a fact and can give infonnation concerning it. One who makes a stand on his convictions to testifies about it, and even willing to die for it.

WITNESSING or sharing our faith is an important factor in growing as a Chris- tian.It keeps our faith fresh & exciting as we see God transfmm lives.

1.It is an overflow of an exciting experience.
Acts 4:20 For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.\

1Jo 1:1-2 The Word of life existed from the beginning. We have heard it. We have seen it. We observed and touched it. This life was revealed to us.We have seen it, and we testify about it. We are reporting to you about this eternal life that was in the presence of the Father and was revealed to us.

2. It is the purpose for which we are empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

3. It is an obligation of those who are already saved

a. The Watchman Principle:
Ezekiel 33:6 But if the watchman sees war coming and doesn't blow the trumpet, warning the people, and war comes and takes anyone off, I'll hold the watchman responsible for the
bloodshed of any unwamed sinner.

b. Paul's Example:
Act 20:-26-27 Therefore I testify to you on this day that I am pure from the blood of all. For I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

OVERCOME FEARS These are real but should not hinder you.

1. Embarrassment - if I talk about what I believe I will feel silly. Apostle Paul shares our experience of feeling foolish.
1 Cor 4:10 We are fools for the Messiah, but you are so wise in the Messiah! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!

2. Fear of rejection- I might be ignored and rejected. Yeshua' own neighbors rejected Him.
Mark 6:1-6 Yeshua left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. "Where did this man get these things?" they asked. "What's this wisdom that has been given him, that he even does miracles! Isn't this the carpenter? Isn't this Mary's son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren't his sisters here with us?" And they took offense at him. Yeshua said to them, "Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith.

3. Inadeguacy - I'm afraid I won't know the answers to people's question Yeshua promised the Holy Spirit will help you speak.

Luk 21:14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
