PRAYER IS COMMUNION WITH OUR FATHER

God invites His Children to talk to Him. Relationship with God is kept alive by intimate exchange of love, thoughts, plans and all concerns and secrets.

TWO TYPES OF PRAYER

1. Supplication is the bringing of our requests to God.

Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God

2. Intercession is praying in behalf of others.It is diving into the mercy and grace of God and draw for others.
Col1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

PRAYING IS A HABIT OF GOD'S PEOPLE

1. Yeshua exemplified it.
Luke 5:16 So He Himself often withdrew ..... and prayed

2. Yeshua taught all believers to always pray.
Luke 18:1 And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

3. Early believers devoted to prayer.
Acts 2:42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

HOW TO PRAY

1. NOT THE JEWISH PRAYER: Problem with Motive-to be seen by men.
Matthew 6:5 And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the comers of the streets, so that they may be seen by men.

2. NOT THE GENTILE PRAYER: Problem with Method-keep on babbling.
Matt 6:7 When you pray, don't ramble like heathens who think they'll be heard if they talk a lot.

3. FOLLOW THE PATI'ERN OF JESUS. What Yeshua taught His disciples as recorded mthe gospet:S of Luke and Matthew is not meant to be memorized, but rather a pattern to be followed.

THJNGS TO DO TO START THE WEEPING HABIT:
• Set a time and place for your prayer life

• Keep a prayer list: your needs, other people's needs you will regularly pray for.

• Start a journal of your prayer experience. Itwill encourage you to
see how God answer your prayers.

• Testify of answered prayers

• Have prayer partners, connect with them and meet to pray with them

• Take note of prayer requests communicated by the church

• Join Church Prayer Meeting
